Covering just less than 0. In Costa Rica there are 26 national parks and areas that have national protection spread out across the country. There are a lot of Ocean views if you spend your time here, since it has the Pacific Ocean on one side and the Caribbean Sea on the other. Need to catch a wave? There's so much you can do while on a Costa Rican vacation and the activities are endless. Amaze yourself with the variety of wildlife in this country- from macaws to turtles to morpho butterflies, an animal lover can find paradise right here in this small country. There are rainforest tours you can join and safari trips for the adventurous. Here you can witness the migratory whales, the variety of dolphins and sea turtles. There are 3 volcanoes in the country and you can actually view one of them that's still active (The Arenal), which is located in the northern part of the country. The other two are just to the midpoint and southern end of the country and many people also love to go soak in the hot springs near the volcano. The country is blessed with fertilized lands especially around the volcano area, where the lava from past eruptions makes up for much of the nutrients in the soil. Costa Rica now attracts tourists worldwide who simply love to soak up the sun on the pristine beaches of this tropical paradise. The best time to visit Costa Rica would be right after Christmas, where the dry weather will start all through April but May marks the start of a long rainy season right through November. It is only a few miles from the equator, so select the right time to vacation here. Tourists should be aware of possible natural disasters and to choose who they tour with carefully; many Americans have gone missing in foreign lands because they go off with people they don't know very well.
